Get Fresh with BlakBear
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we’re all at-home more than ever right now. And with more time at home, many of us are expanding our cooking skills and opting to eat at home rather than at restaurants.
With more cooking comes more leftovers. If you were to look in your refrigerator right now, how many containers of leftovers would you find? One? Two? Three? Can you even remember when you made some of this food and how long it’s been sitting in Tupperware? You may open up each container to see if your food still looks fresh and hasn’t started to smell. But this can be a guessing game sometimes that may leave you feeling quite ill after eating old leftovers.
Have no fear, BlakBear, a UK-based startup, has developed a smart food container to determine your food’s freshness. The smart food container, called HoneyBox, communicates with an app via Bluetooth. The container will send reminders to the app and create a countdown clock to let you know how long your food is edible.
Although the product isn’t on the market, BlakBear evaluates consumer attitudes on their website to assess features and pricing for the HoneyBox. Check out their survey and win a chance to be one of the first people to give this product a try.
